August / September Update

Yes, here it is the August and September update.

We had a team from CC The Brook visit us on July 28th and they were here thru August 10th. They helped us with all the existing ministries. Like the women's ministry, with the youth and the children's ministries. Alexandra from another church also joined the team.

We were visited in August by a couple from CC Gracia, in Lima, Luis & Chipe Valdivia. They are in charge of the couples ministry there at their church and they blessed us with a two part couples seminar for the couples of our church. They were here in Iquitos on vacation visiting famly, but their servants hearts were ready to reach out to the couple at our church as well. Chipe taught at the Women's Meeting first and the ladies invited thier husbands to the two-day seminar.

Mike and Linda Milching also visited us with their two children. Mike's main minstry is showing the Jesus Movie, although this year he brought "The Passion" and it was really well recieved. Linda helped us with the Women's minstry.

The Brook

I didn't get a lot of pictures from the Brook, but Mike Vasquez taught once at our mid-week service and once on the river at Panguana. Dolores and Zenovia taught the ladies at our Women's ministry and helped with our children's ministry in El Terminal and in Panguana.

We also visited Belen and hung out with the street kids.

• Jeremy started a prayer night for our youth group on Sunday nights. I was really suprised by the first prayer night. I thought it would awkward as they learned to pray, but was very happy to see the the young people already knew how and felt comportable praying.
• We had our first "Vigilia" at the church. (An all night prayer session), it was my first and I really enjoyed it.

Praise Reports:

• The community in Panguana has given us a nice sized property to build a church.
• Our youth group is doing really well they are growing and helping in different minstries.
• I was able to go to Lima at the end of September to take a Church History class.

Prayer Requests:

• That the Lord would provide for the funds to build a church in Panguana
• Please pray that the Lord would provide financially for Pastor Jose & his family.
• That the Lord would continue working in the lives of the young people here in Iquitos.

We don't know exactly what we need, but we think it is about $3000 for the church and about $1000 for the Pastorial house next to the church, a place where we can put our backpacks and ministry supplies, where we can leave our food, and cook when we visit. • I received 40% of the amount needed for the month of August.

• Jose received 44% in August of the amount he needs for him and his family.

• We haven't received anything yet for the building of the church in Panguana.
