Hi Everyone,
Here is a special update
The fire started about 1:00pm from a leaky gas container. The fire spread quickly due to unusual winds and the thatch roofs of most of the homes. Luckily the fire department got there quickly and controlled the fire, if not it would have been a lot worse.
Neighbors said there was no time to go in and get their possesions, a few just pulled out a Television or other appliance that were in the living rooms, most people lost all of their clothes and legal documents. And many things that you wouldn't think of like cooking utensils and mosquito nets.
The news was on the television today and it was funny to see the sign of our church on Television under these circumstances. We are trying to help our church members, I wish we could help everyone, but that is not possible for us at this time.
Here are pictures that I took this morning of the front of the church, (Calvary Chapel El Terminal).

Families spent the day cleaning up. Luckily the city sent several trash trucks to pick up the debris. Some volunteers even went house to house to help put all debris in the trash trucks.

Civil Defence provided tents, water and food for the families who had their homes burnt.

Many of the children we know and one church family are now living in tents, until they can get their homes rebuilt. It is an election year, so please pray the canidates will donate lumber and other materials to these families.
