Calvary Chapel Iquitos

Hello Everybody,

Here is our July, 2023 update;

The months have gone by quickly as you can see, I haven't sent an update since March. We have been busy. I had the opportunity to teach a class to a Calvary Bible College in Tagaytay, Philippines. On the way back I got to spend a few days with my family in California and a week with my daughter & granddaughters in Florida.

Tanya Update

As you know from the last report, that Tanya was in my children's group & then in the Youth Group in Belen, when I was doing ministry down there.

She had kidney stones, and they did not pass in one kidney. They wanted to operate but her blood plackets were too low. I got involved about 6 months after that diagnosis. Anyway, to make a long story shorter, we tried several things. And finally, we found a doctor willing to help (for a price) So he ordered blood for her for several days to get her ready for the operation. The ultrasounds showed that her kidney was already deteriorated due to how much time had passed.

So, during the operation, they had to scape out the puss and everything there. Here are some pics of what was left, I imagine they were the kidney stones that had grown during that time.

She is doing good now, so the operation was a success, she just has to be very careful of what she eats & drinks.

Thank you very much for those who prayed for Tanya and for those who sent funds to cover the costs.

Tagaytay Bible College

I was invited to teach a class at the Tagaytay Bible College there in the Philippines. It was a blessing to be there and to be able to share the Word with eager students. I also had fun having lunch with the students and being shown around by Pastor Tony.

One of the great things about visiting Tagaytay is that all the students spoke English. Not everyone I met spoke English, but almost everyone. The people there are very friendly, and they have a lot of respect for older people.

Tagaytay is partly in the mountains, so the weather is nice, not as hot, and humid as Manila. It rained often, but that was good. It kept the heat down, very similar to Iquitos.

(RMCC) Rocky Mountian Calvary Chapel

We were blessed to be visited by RMCC, they were led by Pastor Blair. They have been coming down and visiting us for many years now.

They visited us and did ministry in El Terminal, Santa Rosa & Panguana. They did Children's Ministry, they taught the youth and adults in those churches.

They also blessed the youth of these churches with a mini-retreat, where there were games, swimming, and of course the Word of God. All of the youth enjoyed this time very much.

Bible College Students

Jeins (Jane's) graduated from the Calvary Bible College in Cajamarca this May. Since then he has been very helpful here at the church in El Terminal. Jeins is teaching on Wednesday nights, and has been very involved in the Youth Group, helping Gaby. He also seems to show up and help in all the ministries and events we have here in "Calvary El Terminal".
